Centre Women Capture First Ever 200-Yard Freestyle Relay Title in Record Fashion

For the first time in school history Centre is the 200-yard fresstyle relay champions. Meredith Angel, Lauren Gates, Colleen Maggard and Caroline Stephens in a time of 1:36.62 set an all time SCAC meet record that had been set back in 2005 by DePauw. The Colonels who finished second at the 2008 SCAC Swimming and Diving meet in teh 200-yard freestyle relay was able to take advantage of a lighting fast pool and finish first in 2009.

Hayley Emerick Captures Second Straight Women's 1-Meter Championship

Sophomore Hayley Emerick of Trinity for the second straight year won the women's 1-meter diving championship. Emerick, a sophomore from Portland, Texas broke her own SCAC Championships record she had set just a year ago with a score of 489.95. The Trinity sophomore who busted her ear drum just prior to the competition will compete in the women's 3-meter diving competition on Friday afternoon. Hayley had a chance to talk about her performance after the competition.

SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships - Day 2, Finals

The first full day of competition is in the books at the 2009 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships in Nashville, Tennessee at Tracy Caulkins Competition Pool. It was a remarkable day that saw NINE new SCAC Championships records. The pool was lighting fast on the evening which made for an exciting first night of finals. SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships - Day 2, Heat 1

The first full day of competition is underway! First up, prelims for the Women's 500 free, Men's 500 free, Women's 200 IM, Men's 200 IM, Women's 50 free and Men's 50 Free. SCAC Interactive - Inside the SCAC Vol. 6

We are now just two weeks away from tipping off the 7th annual SCAC Basketball Tournament which will be held in Conway, Ark. on the campus of Hendrix College. This week we will take a look at all the action from last weekend as the SCAC returned to divisional play and all the ramifications it had on the conference tournament as a few more teams locked up their spot in Conway. As always we will get you updated on all the current standings as well as take a look to the weekend ahead and discuss some of the divisional match ups and of course look inside the Top 25.

The conference office also had a chacne to catch up with Centre women's head coach Wendie Austin-Robinson, Colorado College senior guard Melanie Auguste and senior guard Mike Moore of DePauw. This week we also have a special guest as Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry sat down with the SCAC coaching legend Cliff Garrison of Hendrix College.

SCAC Interactive - Inside the SCAC Vol. 5

This week we will take one final look back at cross divisional play and how the final weekend played out. We will also take a sneak peak at the SCAC action coming up this weekend, update all the current conference standings and begin to take shape of the SCAC Tournament as a number of teams have already clinched a birth in the conference tournament. As always we will scan the Top 25 and make note of all the movers on the national scene.

Inside SCAC Basketball - Vol. 4

This week we will take a look as all the current conference standings, discuss the results of last weekends SCAC cross divisional play as well as a peak ahead to the final cross divisional weekend of the 2008-2009 season. The final weekend of cross divisional play will feature once again the Eastern Division at home as the Western Division hits the road. We will also scan the Top 25 and all the movement in this weeks national standings.

SCAC Interactive - Former Trinity University Standout Jerheme Urban Interview

It is not everyday that the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has a former student-athlete compete in the biggest single-day sporting event in the world, but that will be the case on Sunday, February 1, as Trinity University's Jerheme Urban suits up with the Arizona Cardinals for Super Bowl XLIII.

Urban, a former Division III Football All-American, was a part of the 2002 Trinity team that went to the Stagg Bowl - the Division III National Championship game - and now is headed to Tampa, Fla., with his Arizona teammates in the team's improbable run to the Super Bowl.

Urban had 34 catches for 448 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season, and has added five more receptions for 30 yards during the Cardinals' three playoff contests.

We had a chance to catch up with Jerheme before he left for Super Bowl XLIII and asked him about his time at Trinity, as both a standout football and track and field student-athlete, as well as his time in the National Football League.

This week we will take a look at the current Men's and Women's SCAC standings. Discuss the first weekend of cross divisional play as well as take a look ahead to the second weekend of cross divisional play. The second of three cross divisonal weekends slates the Eastern divison to hit the road and head west as the Western divison will host all of this weekends action. Finally we will take a quick look inside the Top 25.
