2011 - SCAC Softball Media Days - DePauw

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual softball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 14.

Day two features a sit down with head coach Bonnie Skrenta along with senior first baseman Ashlee Anton of DePauw.

Skrenta enters her ninth year as the head coach of the Tigers having guided DePauw to five straight 30 plus win seasons. Last year Skrenta led the team to an record of 40-9 tying the previous SCAC record for most wins in a season and the teams second NCAA Softball World Series.

Anton returns for her senior year after a junior season that saw her named to the All-SCAC Second Team. A first baseman, Anton hit .353 from the plate with 42 hits, 19 RBIs and 12 runs scored a year ago.

2011 - SCAC Softball Media Days - Centre

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual softball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 14.

Day one features a sit down with associate head coach Chris Mason along with senior infielder Taylor Childress of Centre.

Mason enters his 11th season with the Colonels after helping to guide Centre to a 16-26 record, 5-11 in SCAC play a season ago. It was the sixth time in the past seven seasons that Centre has posted at least 15 plus wins in a year.

Childress returns for her senior season after an outstanding junior campaign. A year ago, the Nashville, Tennessee native hit .286 with 32 hits, 28 runs scored, 15 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.

2011 - SCAC Softball Media Days - Birmingham-Southern

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual softball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 14.

Day one features a sit down with head coach Kimbal Cassady along with junior pitcher Ronni Ferris of Birmingham-Southern.

Cassady enters her first year as the head coach of the Panthers taking over a program that went 25-9, 12-4 in conference play a year ago. Cassasdy is no stranger to the BSC program having served as an assistant from 2002-2004.

Ferris returns for her junior season after a Second Team All-Conference year as a sophomore. The right-handed pitcher went 13-5 on the mound in 115.2 innings with 142 strikeouts. Ferris also contributed from the plate hitting .374 with 37 hits, 24 runs scored and 20 RBIs.

2011 - SCAC Softball Media Days - Austin College

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual softball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 14.

Day one features a sit down with head coach Edie Fletcher along with senior first baseman Stefanie Faith of Austin College.

Fletcher and the 'Roos enter their fifth season since joining the SCAC with a combined conference record of 24-36 in the previous four seasons. Fletcher guided Austin College to a record of 12-18 a year ago, 5-11 in SCAC play.

Faith, a three time all conference performer, enters her senior season just two home runs shy of breaking the SCAC career record. As a junior, Faith hit .381 with 27 hits, 32 RBIs, 20 runs scored and nine home runs.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Trinity

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day four features a sit down with head coach Tim Scannell along with senior catcher Kyle Felix of Trinity.

Scannell a five time SCAC Coach of the Year enters his 13th season as the manager of the TU Tigers. Last season Scannell guided Trinity to an SCAC Championship and fifth NCAA Tournament appearance with a record of 32-9.

Felix returns for his senior season as a three time First Team All-SCAC performer. In a injury plagued junior season Felix still put up big numbers hitting .426 with 49 hits, 42 runs scored and 41 RBIs in just 26 games.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Southwestern

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day four features a sit down with head coach Jim Shelton along with senior pitcher Chris Churchwell of Southwestern.

Shelton enters his seventh season as the manager for the Pirates. Last season Shelton guided Southwestern to a 13-26 record, 6-14 in conference play missing out on the SCAC Tournament for the second straight season.

Churchwell returns for his senior season to lead the Pirates. As a junior, the 5'10" right-hander posted an ERA of 7.45 in 29 innings of work striking out 27 batters.

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day three features a sit down with head coach Scott Baker along with senior outfielder Taylor Irwin of Sewanee.

Baker returns to the mountain for his 11th season (117-240) at the helm of the Purple Tigers. Last year Baker guided Sewanee to a record of 7-28, 2-13 in conference action.

Irwin, a three time All-SCAC performer, returns for his senior season after batting .406 with 54 hits, 36 RBIs and 26 hits as a junior.

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day three features a sit down with head coach Jeff Cleanthes along with senior outfielder Matt Gilbert of Rhodes.

Cleanthes enters his eight season as the manager of the Lynx. Under Cleanthes, Rhodes has posted five straight seasons of 25 plus wins, including last year when the Lynx finished out 2011 with a 27-17 record.

Gilbert returns for his senior season coming off a First Team All-Conference performance a year ago. As a junior, Gilbert hit .365 from the plate with 42 hits, 26 runs scored, 22 RBIs and 22 stolen bases.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Oglethorpe

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day three features a sit down with head coach Dan Giordano along with senior shortstop Matt Cornwell of Oglethorpe.

Giordano enters his seventh season as the manager for the Petrels after guiding them to a 19-23 season last year, 7-8 in SCAC play. Oglethorpe has posted back to back 15 plus win seasons for the first time since 2001-2002.

Cornwell returns for his senior year after an All-Conference year as a junior. The Boca Raton, Florida native hit .322 from the plate with a team high 46 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. Cornwell also posted a 7-4 record from the mound with five complete games and 61 strikeouts.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Millsaps

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day two features a sit down with head coach Jim Page along with senior infielder Josh Ordeneaux of Millsaps.

Page, a six-time conference Coach of the Year selection, enters his 23rd season at the helm of the Majors' baseball program after leading Millsaps to a 25-15 record in 2010, 12-5 in conference action.

Ordeneaux returns for his senior season after being named first team All-SCAC as a junior. Last year Ordeneaux produced 57 hits, 47 runs and 31 RBIs with a .377 average from the plate. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native stole 18 bases and posted a .925 fielding percentage in 40 games a year ago.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Hendrix

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day two features a sit down with head coach R.J. Thomas along with junior infielder Nathan Harr of Hendrix.

RJ Thomas enters his fifth season as the skipper for the Warriors with a record of 67-91-1. Last year he guided Hendrix to a 18-18 record, 7-13 in conference play.

Harr returns for his junior season after batting .338 with 46 hits, 38 runs scored and 25 RBIs as a sophomore. Harr was strong in the field posting a .962 fielding percentage with just three errors all year.

2011 - SCAC Baseball Media Days - Birmingham-Southern

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its first annual baseball "media days" event beginning Monday, February 7.

Day two features a sit down with head coach Jan Weisberg along with senior infielder Drew Leachman of Birmingham-Southern.

Weisberg enters his fourth season at the helm of the Panthers carrying an overall record of 82-36. Last year he guided Birmingham-Southern to a 34-5 record being named Co SCAC Coach-of-the-Year.

Leachman enters his senior year after an explosive junior season. Named to the ABCA All-South Region team, Leachman hit .433 in 39 games with five home-runs and 51 RBIs. Leachman led the SCAC in runs scored (61) and triples (5) a season ago.
