SCAC Field Hockey Podcast
This week on the SCAC Field Hockey Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Addie McDonnell of DePauw and SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week Sydney White of Centre.
McDonnell contributed to the Tigers' wins over Transylvania (7-0) and Wooster (1-0). In Saturday's win over Transylvania, she score just 5:24 into the match, and added her second goal of the game midway through the second half.
McDonnell generated many offensive bursts for the Tigers on Sunday against Wooster, showing outstanding speed and creating several break-away opportunities. By creating pressure on the Wooster defense.
White overcame a slow start in the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 Colonel win over Ohio Wesleyan to put on a dominant defensive display in the second half and another superior match in Centre’s 1-0 win over Denison.
White shutout down any chances for Centre’s opponents to develop a legitimate attack down her side of the field and contributed greatly to Centre’s commanding possession and shot totals. She also made a tremendous block on a late penalty corner attempt by Denison with less than two minutes to play to preserve Centre’s fourth consecutive shutout victory.
