Coaches Corner; Centre Prepares for NCAA Men's First Round Against Eastern Mennonite
Centre College, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, will play at host Eastern Mennonite University on Friday, March 5 in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament. The Colonels won the SCAC's automatic bid with a 60-56 win over DePauw in the championship game.
Centre, 18-8, will travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to square off against the host Royals (22-4). Eastern Mennonite lost to Randolph-Macon, 82-80, in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals. The Royals enter the game winners in seven of their past eight games while the Colonels enter NCAA postseason play on an eight game winning streak.
SCAC Director of Communications, Russell Kramer, sat down with the head coach of the Colonels Greg Mason and talked to him about his preparations and expectations headed into Centre's opening round match-up.
