The 14th-ranked DePauw University Tigers wont their ninth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship, with a 60-37 win in the championship game over the Centre College Colonels.
The Tigers were led by Emily Marshall's double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds while teammate Jenna Fernandez fell one rebound shy of a double-double, with 10 points and nine rebounds. Other Tigers scoring in double-figures included Brooke Osborne (12) and Kate Walker (11).
Centre was paced by Chelsea Goodman's 11 points and three assists. DePauw limited Centre to 22.7 percent shooting (10-for-44) including 18.2 percent (4-for-22) in the second half.
Maggie Prewitt, the Colonels' leading scorer, at 17 points per game and who had averaged 20 points per game during the tournament, was held scoreless for the first time since Feb. 28, 2009 and just for the second time of her career.
All-Tournament team honors went to Hendrix College's Christina Byler, Centre's Goodman and the DePauw trio of Osborne, Marshall and Fernandez (MVP).
