This week on the SCAC Volleyball Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Player-of-the-Week Alex Bothe of Birmingham-Southern.

Bothe hit .269 while averaging 3.0 kills per set and 2.2 digs per set to lead Birmingham-Southern to a 4-0 record at the SCAC Crossover matches at Birmingham-Southern.

She hit .588 with 11 kills and only one attack error in a 3-0 win over Sewanee. Bothe had double-digit kills in three of her four matches with 11 against Sewanee, 12 against Centre and 15 against Millsaps where she added 11 digs against the Majors for a double-double. She finished off the weekend with nine service aces to go along with four total blocks.

SCAC Volleyball Podcast

This week on the SCAC Volleyball Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Co-Players-of-the-Week Ali Smith of DePauw University and Catharine Found of Trinity University.

Smith averaged 10.64 assists per set while tallying 149 total assists. She also totaled 30 digs (2.14/set) and eight blocks. She registered 52 assists against Colorado College (10.4/set), 50 assists against Austin College (12.5) and 47 assists against Trinity (9.4).

Found hit .411 while averaging 2.24 kills per set to lead Trinity to a 3-1 record at the SCAC Crossover matches at Sewanee. She hit better than .300 in each of the Tigers’ four matches. Against Centre, Found hit a blistering .565 with 16 kills and four blocks. She then tallied 10 kills and four blocks against #20 Austin College.

SCAC Volleyball Podcast

This week on the SCAC Volleyball Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Co-Players-of-the-Week Emily Perkins of Colorado College and Lindsay Thompson of Southwestern.

Perkins hit .348 while averaging 3.47 kills per set to lead Colorado College to four victories last weekend at the SCAC Crossover matches at Southwestern University. Defensively, Perkins averaged 3.27 digs and .533 blocks per set. She posted her fourth and fifth double-double of the season on Saturday, including a 21-kill, 20-dig performance during the five-set victory over Millsaps. Perkins averaged 5.6 points (kills + aces + blocks) per contest during the weekend.

Thompson had 55 kills in 17 sets for a 3.24 kills/set average and had only 10 errors for a .375 hitting percentage. She also led the Pirates in block with 22 to lead Southwestern to a perfect 4-0 conference record.

SCAC Volleyball Podcast

This week on the SCAC Volleyball Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Player-of-the-Week Laura Goldsmith of Colorado College.

Goldsmith averaged 6.53 assists per set as Colorado College split a pair of matches. During Saturday’s five-set loss to #16 Eastern University, she finished with a career-high 33 digs.

Goldsmith tallied 20 or more digs in all four matches and jumped up to 24th-place on Colorado College’s career digs list with 611 just nine matches into her sophomore season.

SCAC Volleyball Media Days - Day Two

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its second annual "media days" event beginning Monday, August 30.

Day two is a sit down with Centre head coach James Neyhouse, Colorado College head coach Rick Swan, DePauw head coach Deb Zellers and Hendrix head coach Mary Ann Schlientz.
