This week on the SCAC Men's Soccer Podcast Director of Communications Russell Kramer had the chance to catch up with SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Josh Settle of Centre.
Kramer also spoke with SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week Denny Mask of Trinity.
Settle continued his strong offensive play with a pair of braces over the weekend. The Colonels started their road trip at Millsaps College on Friday night, where Josh began his impressive weekend.
Settle was a constant threat, tallying six shots on the night with four on goal.
Settle scored two amazing free kick goals in the final eleven minutes to guarantee the 2-0 win for the Colonels.
On Sunday,
Settle continued his scoring streak, tallying two more goals, en route to helping the Colonels to a 3-0 victory. On the weekend,
Settle had nine shots with six on goal, tallying four goals in the process. On the season,
Settle has 10 goals and two assists for 22 total points.
Mask led the Tiger defense that went 1-1 last week, recording a shutout victory on Friday, but falling in a game against top-ranked Christopher Newport Saturday.
Mask and the rest of the defense allowed just four shots to Rowan in a 3-0 win on Friday, then against Division III’s top-ranked team gave up a single score. Coming into the game, CNU was averaging four goals/game.
Friday’s shutout was the third of the year for the Tigers, who have given up just 11 goals in 10 games this season.
