Lucky Number 13; A Pair of Freshman Claim 100-Yard Fly Titles

2013 graduates Spencer Bard of Trinity and Sara Neil of Sewanee captured the individual 100-yard fly titles tonight from Louisville, Kentucky at the 2010 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Bard who took home the men's title, swam in a time of :50.81 fast enough to claim an NCAA "B" cut. The Knoxville, Tennessee native became just the first TU Tiger to take home the blue ribbon in the 100 fly since 2005. Trinity finished with three men in the top eight of the 100-fly final.

Neil took home the women's title in a time of :57.99 also good enough for an NCAA "B" cut. Sara was the first individual from Sewanee to claim a title at the 2010 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships in any event and is the first ever Purple Tiger to won the 100-fly.

The conference office had a chance to catch up with both freshman after the race.
