Hunter Hayes, a junior from Hopkinsville, Kentucky took the top spot in the 2009 Men's 3-meter diving championship with a score of 496.45. Hayes who had finished in the top three his first two years in the SCAC Championships returned to his home pool and finnally captured the title. It was only the second time that a diver from Centre was able to take the top spot, Dustin Schulten was a two time winner back in 2006 and 2007.
