2009 SCAC Baseball Championships - Trinity vs. Rhodes

In a match-up of the conference's two #2 seeds, it was the Trinity University Tigers' 21 hit attack that over matched the Rhodes College Lynx 11-3. The 21 hits were three shy of tying an SCAC Championship single-game record. Trinity's Stosh Hoover hit a two run home run that cut Rhodes lead to 3-2 and the Tigers went on to score nine unanswered runs. Rhodes starting pitcher Andy Holt was roughed up as he allowed 12 hits, five runs (four earned), struck out four in just five innings. Trinity ace Evan Bronson left after just four innings due to injury. From there, three relievers combined to finish the job and allowed just two hits in the last five innings.
