DePauw Claims Second Straight SCAC Softball Championship

The DePauw Tigers won their second straight SCAC Softball Championship this afternoon from the campus of Trinity University 8-0 over Rhodes.

DePauw jumped out early on the Lynx with a two run bottom of the first inning and never looked backed handing the ball off to junior pitcher Megan Soultz. Soultz, a Carmel, Ind native, picked up her third win of the tournament and her 23rd of the year pitching five shutout innings giving up just one hit.

Rhodes finished its season with a school record 29 wins and returns all of its players next year with no seniors on the roster.

DePauw will represent the SCAC as the AQ in the NCAA Softball Tournament which the DU Tigers have been selected to host a regional.
