2009 SCAC Softball Championships - Southwestern vs. Millsaps


Southwestern avoided elimination in the first game of day two action at the 2009 SCAC Softball Championships from Trinity University. The Pirates held a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning when Millsaps two out rally came up short scratching across two runs before the final batter flied out with the bases loaded to end the game. Southwestern prevailed 4-2 as Millsaps is eliminated from the championships.


Millsaps was totaled six hits on the day while committing just one error. The Majors end its season with a record of 15-22.


The SU Pirates scored all four of its runs with two out rallies including a three run first inning. With the win Southwestern survives and advances to play the winner of the Trinity, Rhodes game this afternoon scheduled for 4 PM CST.


After the game Millsaps head coach Roland Rodriguez and Southwestern head coach Angela Froboese spoke with the SCACs Russell Kramer.
