SCAC Football Podcast


This week on the SCAC Football Podcast; Director of Communications Russell Kramer sat down with SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Kyle Lewis of Trinity, Defensive Player-of-the-Week Jimmy Eye of Rhodes and Special Teams Player-of-the-Week Garrett Biel of Trinity.

Lewis ran for 160 yards on 25 carries (6.4 avg.) and scored two touchdowns in Trinity’s 38-28 win at Birmingham-Southern. He totaled 86 yards on 14 (6.1 avg.) attempts in the first half and then upped his production in the second half to 74 yards on 11 carries (6.7 avg.).

Lewis ran for just 17 yards on five carries the previous week in a loss at Millsaps. On the season, Lewis leads the team with 365 yards on 59 carries (6.2 avg.) to rank third in the SCAC.

Eye tallied six tackles (four solo), three tackles for loss and a career-high 2.5 sacks in the Lynx’s 42-28 loss to visiting LaGrange (Ga.).

Biel connected on a career-long 49 yard field goal late in the first quarter of the Tigers’ 38-28 win at Birmingham-Southern. His 49 yard field goal was the third-longest in school history and was his third field goal made from 45 or more yards.

Biel also connected on all five of his PAT attempts to tally eight total points.
