Behind a gutsy complete game performance from senior pitcher Jake Jones, the #3 East seeded Centre College Colonels upset fifth-ranked and #1 West seeded Millsaps College 4-2 to highlight the first day of the SCAC Championship. Jones scattered seven hits, struck out six and allowed just two earned runs in improving 4-2 on the season. The game of the day was the final game of the day as Jones shutdown a powerful Millsaps offense. Centre third baseman Cory Crowdis went 1-for-3 with two runs batted in and drew a walk as the Colonels won an SCAC Championship game for the first time since April 26, 1996.After the game SCAC Assistant Commissioner caught up with winning pitcher Jake Jones of Centre and head coach Mike Pritchard.
