In the winners bracket match-up this afternoon DePauw won its fifth straight SCAC Softball Championship Tournament game defeating Hendrix 6-0 advancing to tomorrows SCAC Championship Game.
Hendrix stranded six runners on base while pounding out seven hits. The Warriors were unable to get a timely hit off DePauw pitcher Megan Soultz. Soultz pitched her second straight complete game in as many days adding seven more strike outs giving her ten for the weekend. With the loss Hendrix will now play the winner of Southwestern and Rhodes for a chance at a rematch against DePauw in the Chmapionship Game.
DePauw catcher Rachel Gill was 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a run scored. The Tigers advance to their second straight SCAC Championship Game. First pitch for tomorrows championship is scheduled for noon CST from Trinity University.
After the game Hendrix head coach Amy Weaver along with DePauw head coach Bonnie Skrenta and senior cathcer Rachel Gill spoke with the SCACs Russell Kramer.
