In the first game of the 2009 SCAC Baseball Championships, the #3 West seeded Hendrix College Warriors won its first SCAC tournament game since April 22, 1999 with a 10-7 upset of the #1 East seeded DePauw University. The Warriors plated five runs in the first three innings and then tacked on four in the top of the ninth to out do the Tigers. DePauw's Justin Weiner became the school's career stolen bases leader with 87 swipes. He also tied the SCAC career mark as well. Hendrix tallied three players with multi-RBI games as Clark Sims, Nathan Harr and Brad Grinstead each drove in two runs.
