DePauw's Mike Peterson went the distance against SCAC East Division rival Rhodes College in the first elimination game of the 2009 SCAC Baseball Championship tournament. Peterson scattered seven hits, struck out seven and allowed just two earned runs in nine innings in the first game of the day. DePauw senior center fielder Justin Weiner became the SCAC's career stolen bases leader with four swipes against the Lynx. Weiner's 92 career stolen bases surpassed the previous mark of 88 set by Trinity's Kenneth Sharp from 2000-03. The No. 5-9 hitters accounted for all six of the Tigers' runs.
After the game the SCACs Jeff DeBaldo caught up with DePauw head coach Matt Walker and players Mike Peterson and Justin Weiner.
